Prizes are no longer available. Join us next year for summer reading and Get A Clue @ Your Library.

Summer Reading at the Santa Monica Public Library, 2006

This information is for kids who can read independently and for parents of infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers interested in "Read-to-Me," our summer reading program for babies and very young children.

Signing Up

Sign up for Summer Reading at any of the Santa Monica Public Library locations beginning June 19, 2006.

When you sign up you will receive a Summer Reading bag, bookmark and clock folder.

Use the clock folder to track the time you spend reading. You can read anything! Picture books, chapter books, magazines, comic books, graphic novels and so on.

Prizes

After you have read for 5 hours, bring your clock folder to any library to claim your first prize**: a plush animal.

After reading for an additional 5 hours, visit the library for your second prize: a paperback book!

Read for 5 more hours and receive: a crazy crab hat.

**Please Note: the Summer Reading prizes are available only while supplies last, or until September 9th, whichever comes first.
